Planning roadshow hailed a success

A recent consultation roadshow offering residents the chance to comment on development in the Borough of Fareham has been hailed a great success. More than 700 people attended over the six consultation days and many more have commented via on-line forms and information on the Council’s website: www.fareham.gov.uk.

The roadshows gave residents the chance to talk to those officers working on the area’s plans for development. They were able to ask questions about specific sites and possible sites and to offer comment on where they think development should take place in the Borough.

Executive Member for Planning and Transportation, Councillor David Swanbrow, said: “This period of consultation has given many of our residents the chance to comment on development issues in the Borough of Fareham. I understand that at times the officers were so busy talking to residents that they weren’t able to ensure all visitors to the roadshow had been counted. As a result, it is very likely that many more people attended.

I’d like to thank everyone who was able to attend the events for coming along to give us their opinion. In addition, I’d like to take this opportunity to remind people that the consultation period remains open until the end of the day on Friday 7th March, so there is still time to offer comments via our website or to view the exhibition in the main library.”

Attendance at each of the roadshows was as follows:
