New bus passes – possible delay

Fareham residents expecting to receive their new bus pass by Monday 31st March are being advised that, due to unforeseen problems, their new passes may not be delivered to them until Tuesday 1st or Wednesday 2nd April.

Bus pass holders are advised that they can continue to use their old passes until the middle of April, by which time they will have received their new pass.

Head of Finance for Fareham Borough Council, Andrew Wannell, said: “Unfortunately the company we and many other local authorities are using to produce the cards and send them out to residents has encountered problems and has advised us that they will not be able to ensure they arrive on peoples’ door mats by Tuesday 1st April.

“We are in regular contact with the bus pass suppliers to ensure that they are doing everything they can to make sure the passes arrive with our residents by the middle of next week. In the meantime bus pass holders are advised that they can continue to use their old passes. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are working to resolve the delay as soon as possible.”

People who have only recently applied for a new bus pass were not expecting to receive their new pass until w/c 7th April and therefore are not affected by this delay.
