Fareham Borough Council is seeking applications from not-for-profit organisations for community grants up to £2,000. The Community Grants Programme is available to support and assist voluntary groups, clubs and organisations in actively providing community, play, sport and leisure opportunities which directly benefit residents of Fareham.
We are particularly keen to hear from local groups working with children with disabilities and projects aimed at young people and tackling anti-social behaviour, as well as local organisations who provide community facilities in their neighbourhood. Amounts awarded range from a minimum of £250 up to a maximum £2000. Examples of previous successful applications include: £2,000 to Abshot Community Centre to purchase and install fire detection equipment; £920 to Frosthole Friends to provide new equipment to support people suffering from chronic pain; and £1,500 to Fareham Philharmonic Society to help fund the setting up of a youth choir.
Director of Customer Services, Martyn George, said: “We welcome applications from any group at any time as there is no deadline for decisions. Applications are considered on a rolling basis and each is considered on its own merits against set criteria.”
Details of how to apply, the criteria and the application form are published on the website at www.fareham.gov.uk or contact Kat Butler on 01329 824425.
