The displays at Westbury Manor Museum give an overview of the history of the Borough of Fareham. Our local studies area provides an opportunity to find out more. You can use it for research, school projects or just for interest.

Copies of this information are organised into easy to use topic files on the ground floor of the Museum. Each file contains a selection of photographs, press cuttings, extracts from relevant articles and topographical illustrations.

Do I need to book?

No. The files are all in the public display area. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please ask a member of the Museum staff - there may be material available elsewhere. If you need to make notes please use a pencil. A public photocopier is available for you to use if you wish.

Fareham Past and Present

"Fareham Past and Present" is a publication by the Fareham Local History Group. It has been produced twice a year for the last 40 years and provides an excellent resource for those interested in the history of the Borough. The Museum has made large print copies and produced an index for past copies. Current copies are available from the Museum, price £2.
