What has been Funded so Far?

An annual sum of £100,000 has been set aside in both years 2007/08 and 2008/09; of this sum £30,000 is allocated to thAn image of jelly peoplee Clean and Tidy Neighbourhood Fund.

Funded in 2008/09 from the Clean and Tidy Initiative Fund

  • Hampshire & the Isle of Wight Trust have been awarded £4527 towards the Swanwick Lake Access project
  • St Edmunds Old Church have been awarded £7457  for the historic conservation of Edwardian & Victorian monuments
  • Portsmouth Housing Association/Hampshire County Council have been awarded £6053 for Community Mural Project
  • HCC Youth Service have been awarded £1000 towards an Anti Bullying Campaign
  • Portchester Community Association have been awarded £500 for Fitness Tots
  • Oak Meadow Childrens Centre have been awarded £1000 to promote child accident prevention
  • Warsash residents have been awarded £1000 for a new bench in Peters Road
  • Sarisbury residents have been awarded £1300 for an Interpretation Board
  • Fareham Easy Access Trail (FEAT) have been awarded £5000 towards stage one of the FEAT project
  • Warsash residents have been awarded £500 for a memorial bench

Funded in 2007/08 from the Clean and Tidy Initiative Fund

Many clubs and groups benefited from the Clean and Tidy Neighbourhood fund in 2007/8.  Funding was given towards new equipment, events, street furniture, lighting columns, signage, hard surfacing, benches, environmental projects, media suites, coffee machines, improvements to rural footpaths and decoration of skate parks.

The list below is some of the clubs and groups who were awarded a total of £50,355 fund of £70,000 in the first year of the CATs project

Funded in 2007/08 from the Clean and Tidy Neighbourhood Fund

The fund can meet the cost of cleaning up abandoned areas of land and/or to sponsor community-led environmental projects to carry out neighbourhood clean up campaigns.

In the first year of the CATs project £19,000 of the £30,000 allocated has be awarded to local residents and groups from the following areas:

Hillson Drive, Butser Walk, areas in Portchester, Fishers Hill, Old Street, Swordfish, Plymouth Drive, Bridge Road, Down End Road, Sarisbury Green, Yew Tree Drive, Brune Lane, areas by Titchfield Community Centre and Shore Road.
