The Community Safety Team is situated within the Council's Department of Regulatory and Democratic Services. The team supports and develops joint initiatives to tackle crime and disorder between various agencies, as well as providing advice and solutions for residents concerned about the safety of their community.
The Community Safety Team comprises of:
A Community Safety Manager who works at a strategic level, liaising with senior officers within the Police, the Youth Service, Probation Service, Youth Offending Team and a range of other agencies. The Community Safety Manager's primary role is to support and develop Fareham’s Community Safety Partnership and to ensure its crime reduction targets are met.
A Community Safety Officer whose role is to work with local residents to find solutions to their concerns about crime and disorder in the neighbourhoods, acting as a signpost to more specialised services if required.
An Anti Social Behaviour Officer who works with individuals who have been identified as being the source of low level crime or disorder. The role involves working with a variety of agencies to put conditions and boundaries in place with the individual to ensure that they no longer cause problems for the community in addition to receiving necessary support.
The Team also has an Analyst, who collates and analyses data and information.
