Football Training 

Coaching Disabled Footballer's Course

Coaching Disabled Footballer's Course on 24th June, 10am - 4pm at Admiral Lord Nelson School in Portsmouth. The course is designed to give football coaches, teachers, volunteers and those involved with disabled players ideas and practices for the inclusion of disabled players in football sessions within mainstream or impairment specific sessions.

Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football

This course will be run at Brune Park Community College on the following dates and times:

Training Days

• Saturday 19th May 2012 - 9.00am – 5.00pm  (date now passed)
• Sunday 20th May 2012 - 9.00am – 5.00pm (date now passed)
   

Preparation Days

• Sunday 30th September 2012 - 9.00am – 5.00pm 
• Sunday 7th October 2012 - 9.00am – 5.00pm

Assessment Weekend

• Saturday 20th October 2012 9.00am – 5.00pm 
• Sunday 21st October 2012 9.00am – 5.00pm

Details

• The cost will be £295.00
• This is a recognised FA Certificate organised through 1st 4 Sport.
• A candidate must be 16 and over.
• The Saturday and Sunday sessions will be practical and take place on the College field.
• In order to qualify you must attend all the sessions and pass a final assessment.

Their aim is to promote best practice and to enable staff and volunteers to become more competent in their roles.

MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme)

MiDAS is a national scheme to enhance the driving and passenger awareness skills of minibus drivers. Although it is not a legal requirement to have MiDAS to drive a minibus, it is increasingly being accepted as good practice, and most organisations operating minibuses insist on their drivers holding a MiDAS Certificate.

The training involves a classroom session followed by a separate driving assessment in our minibus. On completion a certificate is issued which lasts for four years, and which is recognised nationally as a common standard. It is not necessary for candidates to have prior experience of driving a minibus, although there are certain driving licence requirements (please telephone 01329 223145 for further details).

Dates:

• Tue 12th & Wed 13th June
• Tue 17th & Wed 18th July.
   

Times: 9.15am to 1pm for Standard MiDAS, 9am – 4pm for Accessible; followed by a driving assessment on the second day.

Venue: Community Action Fareham, 163 West Street, Fareham PO16 0EF.
Cost: Standard £60-£70, Accessible £70-£80.

Coaching Hampshire & IOW

Coaching Hampshire & IOW are pleased to announce that courses are now available to book as part of Coach Education Month.

They are offering a heavily subsidised rate and all courses which are part of Coach Education Month are only £15 each!

There is a great variety of topics including Sports Nutrition, Performance Analysis and an Introduction to FUNdamentals of Movement. Look out for more courses coming your way on coaching and education and long term athlete development.

Typhoo Sports for All Disability Inclusion Course

Are you a coach delivering regular coaching sessions?

Are you committed to providing equal opportunities in sports coaching?

If so, then a Typhoo Sports for All Disability Inclusion Course could be for you. This six hour course will give you the skills and inspiration to include disabled people in your coaching sessions. The course will enable delegates to:

• Learn the theory behind modern disability sport
• Experience an opportunity to participate in new activities
• Develop their ability to adapt games and activities to include all ability groups

We are looking to put on one of these courses in Hampshire in the early part of next year at a subsidised cost.
