
Fareham Borough Council helped to support over 120 young people from 4 special schools across Fareham to participate in the Parallel Games 2011. The games took place in Aldershot on Friday 10th June. The schools that represented Fareham were Baycroft School, Portchester Community School, Heathfield School and St Francis School.
The Parallel Games is for athletes aged 11-16 with learning and physical disabilities, and offers competitive opportunities across many sports such as Football, New Age Kurling, Basketball and many more! It embodies everything that is good about sport – team work, co-operation, communication, trust and most importantly, fun. For many of the athletes it provides a springboard to long-term participation and competition.
