Caudwell Children's Charity (65 Kb) PDF icon is a national charity which helps disabled children on a number of levels. It was noted that a number of young people requiring glasses to play football were being excluded, as the referee or team managers thought it was dangerous. However, there are specialist sports glasses which are approved by FIFA, but they are approx £150.00 per pair, which makes them cost -prohibitive in most cases. Players who need the sports glasses to be able to safely compete, as long as the need for the equipment is supported by a medical professional and a coach /manager, may be applicable for a donation towards the cost if they contact the charity.
