Football contributed nearly £1bn to the Exchequer in 2009/10, reflecting the success of the modern game and underlining its continuing strong cultural appeal.
Despite these strengths there are serious problems facing our national game. A recent parliamentary report, ‘Football Governance’ into the future of the professional game, has highlighted the inadequacies of current structures and leadership within the game and proposes urgent changes to the way football is run in England.
With the Government challenging the football authorities to co-ordinate a response by 29th February 2012, this timely symposium provides an invaluable opportunity for Football Clubs, Football Authorities, grassroots football practitioners and development organisations, supporters’ groups and policymakers from Local and Central Government to come together to shape a strategy and timetable for change.
For more information or to book a place please visit the Public Policy Exchange website (this is an external hyperlink). There is a 20% early registration discount off the standard delegate rates for all bookings received by 14th December 2011.
