Sport Partnerships

Sport Partnerships for the Borough are co-ordinated by the Partnerships and Development Officer. The aim is:-

  • to identify and promote sport development initiatives and opportunities and where possible to support local sports clubs and organisations. Information on local clubs can be accessed quickly and easily through our new Sports Club Directory
  • to promote the "Fareham Sports Development Award - the Toon Cup which is awarded annually to recognise significant achievements by a local club in the promotion and development of their respective sport for young people within the Borough.
  • to provide support for sport within local schools, encouraging the development of extra curricular opportunities and the development of school-club links.
  • to encourage participation in national sports development initiatives such as Active Sports, Hampshire Youth Games, Parallel Youth Games and the Hants and Isle of Wight Games.
  • to work in partnership with external organisations to encourage greater participation in sport, such as the Round the Harbours Sponsored Family Bike Ride.

Hampshire County Council offers a wide range of support for sportspeople within the County. These include:-

  • FANS (Free Access for Local Sportspeople)
  • Financial support through Bursary Schemes
  • Coaching and Officiating Bursaries

The Fareham and Gosport Sport & Physical Activity Alliance (SPAA) are holding the Fareham Roadshow An image to show a pdf document (241 Kb)on Saturday 13 September between 10am and 4pm at the Performance Podium between Cafe Nero and The Vanguard in West Street, Fareham. The Football Association is holding a 3 hours Emergency Aid course which is being offered to all local sports clubs. If you would like to attend the course, please complete the application form An image to show a pdf document (17Kb) and return with payment. Further details of the course are below.

Cost: £21 per candidate
