Childcare

 

Within the Borough of Fareham there is a wide range of childcare facilities on offer for children aged 0-14 years. These range from nurseries and pre schools for children aged 0-5 to breakfast, after school and holiday provision for children attending school. This gives working parents the opportunity to continue in their career or education knowing that their children are cared for in a safe environment.  

Settings providing care for children under 8 years old for more than 2 hours a day are registered and inspected by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) to ensure they are providing care to an acceptable standard. Providers that don’t meet these criteria can register on the voluntary register. Dedicated Children’s Centres and the Extended Schools Programme are rolling out across Fareham. These will improve the delivery of children’s services within the Borough by providing essential services local to the community and sign posting where additional services can be found.
