The Navigation Structure

Within the green strip at the top of every page you can find links to the A to Z of Council Services, how to Contact Us as well as Latest News and What's On within the Borough of Fareham. You can also search our site using the search box on the right hand side of the same green strip.

 

We also have a left hand navigation bar which you can select, every link takes you to a different area of our site. Another set of links below the first will give you further options and from these links you will then find a third level of options or a selection of drop down boxes to help you find what you are looking for.

 

We also have a breadcrumb trail at the top are of every page's content which enables you to see where within the site structure you are and gives you the option to go back pages without the need to use the back button within your browser.

Online Services is split into several sections.  Here you can find out how to apply for services such as bus passes and travel tokens, you can pay your housing rent or Council Tax online and even report problems such as abandoned vehicles.  There is also a list of Council publications as PDFs for you to print out and maps of services in the Fareham borough.

All information about the Council and what we do is held under About the Council. This includes information on departments and services each provides, Committees along with Committee information, Councillors, and general information on the Council Offices such as how to get to the offices, where to park etc.

The Discover Local Area section has information on our Borough, with a history of Fareham dating back to AD43. Discover Local Area also has information on how to get to Fareham, where to park and what to do in the local area. Here you will also find information on the various places that make up the Fareham Borough, such as Titchfield and Portchester.

The Fareham's Community area of the website contains information about Community Safety, help and advice for people of all ages and details of how you can get involved through the Community Action Teams. You'll also find information on the Council's Community Grants Programme and networkfareham - Fareham's Community Partnership.

The Council provides a range of services to encourage the growth of business within the Borough.  Under Business & Economy you will find information on services provided by the Economic Development team, including support for new businesses and the Fareham Business Database. Information is also available on business property in the area along with details of the Fareham Technology Forum.

If you're interested in working for Fareham Borough Council then Jobs and Employment contains details of all the current vacancies, information on working here and you can even apply for jobs online.

Council Services provides information on all our main services such as environmental health, parks and open spaces and recycling.

The links within the top area of the header of our homepage will take you to this help page, our sitemap, an option to show the low graphics version of our site, access key details to enable you to navigate through our site using your keyboard, and gives the option of reducing or enlarging the text of the site.

Search

The Search facility is located at the top right hand corner of the header bar. The Search enables you to search for a word or phrase. Once you have selected go, the search will then show you a list of pages on the site that contain the word/phrase you have selected and how well they match your search will be shown in stars beside each page.

To view any file in Portable Document Format (PDF) downloaded from this site, you need the Adobe Acrobat Reader program. The program is freely available if you do not already have it.

Shortcut addresses

We use shortcut addresses on our web site to avoid lengthy navigation to some frequently used pages. For example, www.fareham.gov.uk/leisurecentre takes you directly to the welcome page for Fareham Leisure Centre instead of having to click on 'Discover Local Area' then 'Venues' and finally selecting 'Fareham Leisure Centre'. Here is a full list of the shortcut addresses on our web site.
