Names of Winners of Citizen of Honour Award 2010

 

Citizen of Honour Award (18 years plus)

This category is awarded in recognition of community and voluntary service which benefits the local community.  Award winners include those who have shown a long-term commitment to volunteering with a local charity, or voluntary group whose aim is to improve the quality of life for local residents.

 

Presented to Mr David Redwood

In recognition of David's work as a member of the Friends of Holly Hill - he is one of the founding members.  He willing gives talks and addresses external interest in the Park.  David became the Chairman of the Friends Group approximately 8 years ago.

Presented to Miss Pam Chisham

In recognition of Pam's voluntary work for Fareham Allotments (running two shops) and helping Porchester allotments for many years.  She has been a member of Fareham in Bloom working group, runs school gardens clubs and regularly visits schools in Portchester to help with gardening projects.

Presented to Mr Ian Boucher

In recognition of Ian's enthusiasm and dependability as a Special Constable, devoting a significant amount of his own time to policing duties in the Fareham District.

Presented to Mr Alan Simpson

In recognition of Alan's selfless work for the benefit of Portchester in particular organising and running the Portchester Gala for many years which helps to bring the community together.

Young Citizen of the Year Award (12 - 18 years)

This award is in recognition of community and voluntary service which benefits the local community.  Like the Citizen of Honour Award, young people may be volunterring with a local charity or voluntary group, or providing on-going care to an individual.

Presented to Miss Briony Stevens

In recognition of Briony's help at SNAP discos for the past five years.  She helps organise the events in her own time and has been one of the main organisers.

Young Citizen of the Year Award (4 - 11 years)

This award celebrates an outstanding act of bravery, a regular selfless act for others, or for overcoming and learning to adapt to a registered disability.  Young people who are nominated for this award may be making a positive endeavour to take part in community or voluntary activities, or regularly providing care or support to a relative or friend.

Presented to Master William Luckett

In recognition of William's kind and considerate nature, he is always the frst to attend to someone in need.  William is a keen peer mentor at Cams Hill School in Fareham
