Temporary hosepipe ban lifted

Southern Water's Temporary Use Ban in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight came into effect on Friday 5 August and was lifted on 4 November 2022.

Phew it's hot!

In light of the hot dry weather we've been having we're being asked to think about how we use water. When warm weather hits, demand for water increases by as much as 70%, compared to cooler times. 

We are not in a drought at the moment, but Southern Water which covers the Fareham Borough area, have issued some advice to residents to help them be 'water wise'. This includes:

Remember small changes can make a huge difference to water supply levels across our region.

 


Take care to stay hydrated

It's also important during the hot weather to stay healthy and hydrated. Keep your re-usable water bottle topped up, placing a jug of tap water in the fridge to give you a readily available chilled supply, so you can stay refreshed and water efficient.
