You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining and improving the Council’s award-winning parks and open spaces. This includes sports grounds, parks, cemeteries and other public spaces. Duties include soft and hard landscaping, site preparation, planting, turf maintenance, pruning of hedges and shrubs and bedding maintenance. You will also be required to sweep, collect and remove litter and animal waste.

You must have experience in grounds maintenance, hold a full UK driving licence and ideally hold PA1/PA6 pesticide certification. A pleasant and courteous manner is also essential.

Weekend and occasional evening working may be required. The hours of work will be 8.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am- 3.30pm Fridays.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our approach to customer research and community engagement. The right candidate will have experience of planning and implementing customer research, leading focus groups, undertaking surveys and analysing data.

You will be an excellent communicator and be able to demonstrate the ability to present information to a range of audiences using a variety of methods. You will be a strategic thinker who has the ability to work with our officers, elected members and partners to get residents involved in high quality consultations and engagement events to understand their needs.

It is essential that the successful candidate will have experience of operating in a politically sensitivity environment, preferably gained through working within Local Government.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Neighbourhood Officer. You’ll provide a high quality and value for money housing tenancy and estate management service in accordance with our corporate priorities, values and customer service ethos.

You’ll provide practical advice and support to tenants on everything from viewings, disputes, rent arrears, tenancy changes to terminations. You will form effective relationships with tenants to maximise the duration of tenancies.

Experience of working in housing management is preferred but not essential as training will be given. However, experience of dealing with members of the public in a frontline service is essential as you will be in direct liaison with tenants and will be able to show us a commitment to providing excellent customer service. You must have the ability to communicate effectively, meet deadlines and work well in a team.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Licensing Officer looking for a new challenge.

Situated within the Environmental Health Partnership, you’ll lead the Licensing and Support Team in the delivery of the Licensing Service. The Partnership provides Environmental Health and Licensing functions across both Fareham and Gosport councils whilst maintaining the individual identity of both.

You’ll ensure Council policies and enforcement follow legal frameworks, interpret licencing laws and be the Council expert in licencing for both Fareham and Gosport.

You’ll lead the co-ordination and development of licensing policies and support and assist Officers within Environmental Health and Licensing to improve service delivery and performance.

You’ll manage a Support Team who undertake routine taxi licensing, TENs and Personal licences. The team provide reception, admin and finance support across Fareham and Gosport as well as other ad hoc duties.

You’ll ensure the Support Team have the resources and support to enable them to carry out their varied roles.

Experience of licensing and enforcement will be essential for the successful person.

Organisation skills, accuracy and flexibly in your approach to work will be essential in achieving job requirements across both boroughs. You’ll need good communication skills, to present a positive image and deliver excellent customer service.
