Senior Planner

We are looking for an experienced Planner to help deliver our ambitious future by leading and co-ordinating projects and services in the Planning Strategy and Regeneration team.
You should have excellent communication skills together with a 'can-do' attitude and be able to deal with customers and colleagues in a polite and helpful way.

We can offer you an exceptional working environment along with the chance to get involved in challenging planning, development and regeneration issues.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have an interest or experience in retail planning. Having just consulted on our Draft Local Plan and finalised regeneration plans for two centres in the Borough, we are looking for an individual who can take on both policies and projects focused on planning and delivering development in both our town centre and other centres in the Borough.

Planner

Development Management

£27,224.00 - £30,634.00 plus Essential User Car Allowance

Temporary 12 month maternity cover

Working within the Development Management team, you will be required to deal with a wide range of householder and other minor planning applications and to provide planning advice to our customers. The role will offer you the opportunity to deal with a varied and challenging caseload within a busy planning environment.

You should be customer focussed with excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of internal and external customers.

You will need a confident and pro-active attitude supporting others in their decision making and positively representing the Council when decisions have been made.

You will need to have the relevant experience in dealing with planning applications and providing planning advice on a range of matters.

Senior Cleansing Technician (HGV Road Sweeper)

We’re looking for a Senior Cleansing Technician to help keep Fareham’s streets, parks, cemeteries and other public spaces clean and tidy.

You will need a full, clean HGV 2 (Category C) licence, along with an up to date DQC card. Awareness of street cleansing legislation is also essential.

Your main duty will be to sweep the Borough’s streets using a large road sweeping vehicle.

Other duties will include:
○ Sweeping, collecting and removal of litter, small fly-tips, detritus and animal waste from roads, footpaths and open spaces
○ Carrying out driver responsibilities in relation to Council vehicles and plant
○ Inspection of sites and reporting defects to the Operations Manager
○ Completion of relevant paperwork
○ Emptying and maintaining litter bins, dog waste bins and street furniture

You will also occasionally operate a range of other vehicles, including:
○ Compact mechanical road sweeper
○ Hiab loader and/or skip loader
○ HGVs and vans
○ Pedestrian controlled sweeping and collecting machinery

Working hours will generally be 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a 5.30am start unless otherwise agreed.
