Statutory Monitoring Information
Under the specific duty of the Race Relations Act 1976 as amended by the Race Relations
Act (2000) we are required to monitor employment practices in relation to race and
publish this information annually. Specifically to monitor race with
regard to the numbers of:
- Employees in post
- Applicants for employment, training and promotion
- Employees receiving training
- Employees who benefit or suffer detriment as a result of its performance assessment procedure
- Employees involved in grievances
- Employees who are the subject of disciplinary procedures
- Employees who cease employment
For 2006/07 information is as follows:
- 1.61% of employees are from BME background
- 7% of recruitment applications were from BME background and of applicants interviewed 9% of these were BME, with no offers of employment
- all BME received job related training
- all BME employees were part of the performance review process
- 2 BME employee(s) left the Council
