Fareham Borough Council has granted £3,799.63 to Crofton Saints Youth Football Club for the purchase of new equipment and kit through the Community Funding programme.
The club based in Stubbington has over 30 teams and approximately 400 players ranging from an under 6 team through to veterans. The fund helped the club to purchase new goals and other sports equipment to be used in training.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councilor Seán Woodward said: "Last year's wet weather resulted in the cancellation of many games and part of the club's 2012 tournament, which is a vital source of funding for the club. The Community Funding will prevent the club from struggling as a result these circumstances".
The Community Fund is available to support projects that benefit the local community or environment within the Borough of Fareham. Any resident, or organisation based in the Borough can apply for money for one off purchases from the Community Fund.
