07:30 - Monday 19 March
All general waste and recycling vehicles have gone out this morning. It is planned that bins from properties on main roads will be collected first, then estate and side roads later to allow the snow time to thaw.
If any roads are not accessible for the Council’s vehicles, revised collection details will be posted on this website later today.
Fareham Borough Council officers arrived at work this morning to find that the Civic Offices had been affected by the storm last night.
A glass panel has been damaged and smashed, making the civic offices car park unusable today, in case glass falls from the panel into the car park below.
The car park has been sectioned off with barriers and tape, as it is not known where the glass will fall, should additional chunks of it fall from the panel.
A Council Spokesperson said "Unfortunately it is too risky to allow the car park to be used, in case some of the glass falls out of the panel, and in high winds, it could blow into the car park and hurt someone who may be in it. Our intention is to get the pane boarded up to make it safe later today"
Access to and from the other Civic Way car parks for those on foot can still be reached by walking around the other side of the Civic Offices building, near to Job Centre Plus.
