The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr David Norris will be unveiling an additional name on the War Memorial at Holy Trinity Church this Sunday.
The Mayor's tribute forms part of the annual Remembrance Day Parade where Fareham's Civic party, in conjunction with the Royal British Legion and HMS Collingwood, pay tribute to the men and woman who served the nation.
The unveiling will follow the Forever Remembered Ceremony at Holy Trinity Church, where the names of men from the Fareham area who died serving in the World Wars, and whose names are engraved on the memorial, will be read out at 9.40am. At 11.00am a two-minute silence will be observed ending with the Last Post.
The Mayor has said: "We welcome residents to join us as we remember all those servicemen and women from Fareham who did not return from the wars. This year marks centenary of the start of the First World War. With no surviving veterans from this conflict it is down to us to salute those who served and give thanks for their bravery and our freedom".
