King George V play area will receive a complete refurbishment in time for the summer holidays. The improvements will cost £70,000 and are being paid for out of developer contributions.
Drawing on feedback from an online questionnaire completed by local residents and suggestions from the pupils of Locks Heath Junior School, the park will become more family friendly and will feature additional equipment suitable for different ages and abilities, along with further benches and picnic tables.
Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Connie Hockley said: "The children have had some great ideas that have helped us come up with a final design for King George V play area. It's really important that local young children get involved with this so that they can benefit from their suggestions and have fun."
Improvement works will be taking place from around the middle of May until June and while these works are being carried out, the play area will be out of action.
