Work begins on Holly Hill Leisure Centre 

The ground breaking ceremony for Fareham's new multi-million pound Holly Hill Leisure Centre took place on June 15.

Fareham Borough Council has contracted Balfour Beatty to construct the Leisure Centre on the site of the Coldeast Hospital in Sarisbury Green. When complete in summer 2016, the centre's facilities will include:

Cllr Sue Bell, Executive Member for Leisure and Community said: "Work is starting on the Holly Hill Leisure Centre which is due to be completed in summer 2016, and when open will allow local residents to enjoy the excellent facilities it will offer them."

Jon Chew from Balfour Beatty said: "The Holly Hill Leisure Centre will provide a fantastic hub for the community to come together to get fit and at the same time give several apprentices the opportunity to take their first steps in the construction industry working on this great project."

When finished, the Leisure Centre will be managed by Everyone Active on behalf of the Council. There will also be two new junior football pitches, a children's play area and a multi-use games area for people to enjoy on site.  The Council's Countryside Service and volunteers are managing the different natural habitats surrounding the centre.
