Planned resurfacing work in Fareham will start on 23rd October when the paved areas from the Shop mobility unit in Osborne Road (by the Multi-storey car park) across to the Civic Offices turning circle are replaced with tarmac.
Access to surrounding facilities including the Library, Shopping Centre, Osborn Road Multi-storey car park and the Shopmobility unit will still be possible during normal opening hours, as the work will be completed outside of these times. To further minimise disruption the work will be completed in sections, weather permitting the re-surfacing will be completed by the 12th November.
Executive Member of Public Protection, Councillor Trevor Cartwright said: "The area to be re-surfaced is well used by pedestrians, especially those using the Multi Storey Car Park during visits to various facilities including Library, Shop Mobility, Civic offices, Ferneham Hall, Health Centres, and shops. Public health and safety is a priority of this Council and we hope the new surface will help to prevent potential trips and falls."
