Recycling Cardboard

It is now even easier for Fareham residents to recycle their cardboard. The distinctive blue paper recycling banks at the recycling centres across the Borough now accept both paper and card.

Paper and cardboard can also be recycled through your blue top recycling bin. However, the recycling banks offer a useful way to dispose of large cardboard boxes, which have to be broken up to get them in the blue top bin. They will need to be flattened to go in the long slots in the paper bank, but there is no need to break them up.

The paper is recycled into newsprint, and the cardboard goes to make new cardboard packaging.

Executive Member for Streetscene, Councillor Keith Evans, said "I am delighted with extra recycling service, which gives residents even more ways to recycle their waste, Large cardboard can be a problem, and people can now recycle it in their neighbourhood".

There are 13 paper banks across the Borough. To find your nearest, please visit www.fareham.gov.uk/recycling or contact: 01329 236100.
