Fareham Borough Council has moved to the next stage in planning for the future of the Coldeast Hospital site in Sarisbury. A Draft Development Brief has been prepared which sets out how the site should be developed and managed in the future, providing the framework for future planning applications.
This draft document will be published shortly for consultation so that the local community will have the opportunity to respond. The consultation period will run from Monday 6 June to Monday 18 July, so this is the public's chance to get involved.

From Monday 6 June the Draft Coldeast Development can be viewed:
Additionally Fareham Borough Council will be hosting a number of exhibitions at the following locations:
The exhibitions will include details of the Draft Development Brief proposals and key principles for development. In addition, the Homes and Communities Agency together with their selected development partners, Miller Homes, will be showing illustrations of how new housing could be developed in accordance with the Draft Development Brief.
Executive Member for Strategic Planning and Environment, Councillor Keith Evans, said: "Once the public has looked at the Draft Development Brief or attended one of the exhibitions, we want to know what they think. A response form will be available at the exhibitions, online at www.fareham.gov.uk , from any of the local libraries or from the Civic Offices. This is the public's opportunity to respond and I would encourage them to do so."
Please note that all responses must be received by 18 July 2011. Following this period of consultation and a review of comments received, a final amended Coldeast Development Brief will be approved by the Council in the autumn 2011.
