The Mayor of Fareham has invited this year's Fareham Citizens of Honour 2011, to afternoon tea in the parlour on Monday 20 June.

Edward is an active member of the Royal British Legion and the Royal Air Force Association and has been for over 20 years. He has collected thousands of pounds for the Poppy Appeal and Wings Appeal. He spends up to 10 hours a day collecting.
Mrs Heather Scott has dedicated much of her life to helping other people. She was heavily involved in organising and running a thriving gardening club at Northern Junior School, Portchester. Mrs Scott also runs a Brownie unit, is involved in organising a float in the Portchester Carnival every year and also commits a lot of her time to the Fareham in Bloom campaign, especially in respect of the special events that are provided for the children.
Iris Meatcher works tirelessly throughout every year to promote and help in Operation Christmas Child. She organises and helps with checking and sorting shoe boxes to the warehouse in Southampton for distribution. She is an inspiration to everyone and last year over 8,300 boxes were sent from Sarisbury Green United Reformed Church where they are based.
Mr Wilson is the Volunteer Area Coordinator for the registered charity, Pets as Therapy (PAT). He is himself a regular visitor with his dog Maddie to a large number of patients/residents in hospitals, hospices, day care centres, nursing homes and special needs schools in the area along with his volunteers and their registered temperament-tested pets.
Sybil ran the Good Companions 2 Lunch Group, held at Holy Rood Church, for over 20 years. The group met every two weeks and Sybil organised an extensive programme of events and did all the cooking for a two course lunch for approx 25 members. She reluctantly retired last September. She was very highly thought of by all her members, who were all very sorry when due to her advancing age and frailty she was reluctantly persuaded to give up.
George Barlett - Young Citizen of Honour (4-11 years)
George (aged 7) is a young carer and started looking after his mum from the age of 5, his mum is unable to do the simplest of tasks including standing for long periods and getting up and down from seating positions due to an ongoing medical condition. George is a fantastic child who goes above and beyond to help his mum when she is ill. He is so happy you wouldn’t know he was doing so much at home! School has not been affected at all. His results are still where they were before all this started, he is a popular boy and gets on well with all his friends.
The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Trevor Cartwright, said: "I am looking forward to meeting the Citizens of Honour, who are an inspiration to us all."
