For one month from Tuesday October 18 2011, the public can visit www.qe2fields.com and show their support for their local green spaces.
2012 marks Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge would like to ensure that it is celebrated in style. The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge, operated by Fields in Trust, is a fantastic new campaign to protect 2012 outdoor recreational spaces in communities all across the country as a permanent living legacy of this great event.
Fareham Borough Council has already successfully secured the Queen Elizabeth II status at four sites within the borough, Wicor Recreation Ground, Seafield Park, Allotment Road Recreation Ground, and Bath Lane Recreation Ground. But you can still go on-line to show your support and engage in volunteering activities, just click on www.qe2fields.com.
Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Councillor Connie Hockley said:" Even though we have already gained the Queen Elizabeth II status at four of our sites we still would like to see the local community going on line and showing their support for the sites".
