Residents and people who park in the Borough are being asked for their views on the future of parking within the area.
Fareham Borough Council is preparing a revised parking strategy, due to be published in the summer of 2012. The new strategy will look at a range of issues including the current supply and demand for parking, season tickets, the future impact of developments and parking charges. The strategy will also decide whether innovations such as 'cashless payments' (eg, paying by credit card) should be implemented.
To help ensure we get the strategy right, the Council has set up an online survey to gauge opinion on a number of issues surrounding parking charges. The aim is to get as many views as possible to feed into the new strategy and help the Council plan for future parking needs. The online survey will be running until 16 December 2011.
Executive Member for Strategic Planning and Environment, Councillor Keith Evans, said: "The online survey is a real opportunity for local residents and people who park in Fareham to have their say about the future of parking in the Borough, I would urge residents to take up this opportunity."
People wishing to give their views will be able to complete a short online survey at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultation.
