Fareham’s Olympic Community Parade

To celebrate the Olympic Flame coming to Fareham, a community parade will be hosted by Fareham Borough Council on Sunday 15 July.

The parade will be led by the Mayor of Fareham Cllr Dennis Steadman, and will start at 3pm from Bath Lane and make its way through the town centre. The Council would like to invite local schools, community groups and clubs to register and join in.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Councillor Connie Hockley, said: “The community parade will produce a real carnival atmosphere in the town centre whilst showcasing the brilliant clubs and groups we have within the borough”

To register to your school, community group or club to take part in the parade please email fareham2012@fareham.gov.uk, all entries must be received by Monday 25 June 2012

The Torch Relay will be a unique event and a once in a lifetime spectacle. The celebrations will begin in West Street from 2pm with Breeze FM broadcasting live, and performances from the Fareham School of Gymnastics and a local group of Morris Dancers. The Torch will arrive in East Street at 4.30pm and will leave the Borough on the A32 at Fareham Reach at 4.55pm
