On Monday 2 July Fareham Borough Council invited torch bearers from Fareham, who are carrying the torch through nearby areas, as well as the torch bearers carrying the flame through Fareham to an event to mark the 25 days milestone until the Olympic Games begin on Friday 27 July.
Also in attendance was the Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Dennis Steadman, Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, along with Rebecca Wilson who carried the flame through Bath. Rebecca is the Manager of Spirit Health Club at The Holiday Inn, Titchfield, and took along her 2012 torch.
Laura Carlisle, who is from Fareham, will be carrying the Torch through The Needles Park, on the Isle of Wight on the 14 July 2012. She took along a 1948 torch with her which was carried by her Grandfather Peter J Roland for the 1948 Olympics.
Others that attended were Torchbearers from Fareham, Paul Curtis and Aaron Cook. Paul will be carrying the torch through Bridgemary on 15 July, and Aaron will be carrying the torch through East Cowes on 14 July.
The Mayor of Fareham Councillor Dennis Steadman said: "It was lovely to see the Torch from 1948 and we look forward to welcoming the Olympic Flame to Fareham on July 15."
