Fareham and Gosport Borough Councils' Building Control Partnership (BCP) and Bargate Homes Ltd have won the prestigious 'Best Large Housing Development` at the 2012 LABC South East Building Excellence Awards.
The award was given for the outstanding overall quality of the Bargate Homes Ltd development of the Old Brewery at Hambledon. The Bargate team with BCP as their Building Control advisors have worked together using their considerable experience to blend a superior build quality with modern designs that go beyond the requirements of The Building Regulations and respect the unique location of this development.
Bargate Homes needed consistent Building Regulation advice and project guidance throughout the project, which BCP provided along with a simple application process, a single point of contact for Bargate, timely advice, high quality plan checking services and detailed local knowledge.
BCP's reputation for high quality, excellent value for money Building Control consultancy, has lead to over 30 other companies deciding to use BCP for all their projects, where ever they build.
Councillor Trevor Cartwright, Deputy Executive Leader and Portfolio Holder for Public Protection at Fareham Borough Council with responsibility for Building Control and Councillor Wayne Ronayne, Chairman of the Regulatory Board at Gosport Borough Council commented: "We are delighted that the excellent work of the Building Control Partnership has again been recognised and this award clearly shows how the private and public sector can successfully work together."
The award qualifies Bargate Homes Ltd and the Building Control Partnership to progress to compete in the LABC National Awards which will be held in London on Tuesday, 13 November 2012 at The Brewery in London.
This latest award follows on from Building Control Partnership winning the Best Partnership category in 2011Regional Awards for its partnership with Hampshire County Council and being highly commended in the 2011 national awards
