NB. Joint Press Release from Fareham Borough Council, Winchester City Council and Segensworth Business Forum
Fareham Borough and Winchester City Councils are delighted to congratulate the Segensworth Business Forum (SBF). After five years of successful partnership activity the local business group has won the support of its businesses to renew its Business Improvement District (BID) for another five years. The ballot of Segensworth businesses has produced an 83% vote of confidence in the SBF and its business plan that has invested substantially in projects and activities for the benefit of the business community
Cllr Seán Woodward, Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, commented "The Council is happy to lend its support to the Business Improvement District by facilitating the ballot and levy collection on behalf of the SBF. This is a win win situation for the Borough whereby the Council ensures that every business pays its share so that the SBF can invest in a wide range of projects for the benefit of the business community."
The SBF has invested in projects including security cameras and patrols, training and networking events and improved transport into the area. One of the largest schemes is currently underway with contractors onsite and building a network of pavements and an improved underpass between Segensworth West and East that will make walking around the estates a safer and more enjoyable experience for employees.
Chairman of the SBF, Mark Sutton, is delighted with the results of the recent vote:
"The members of the SBF, made up of volunteers from businesses on the estates, have given freely of their time and have worked hard to make significant improvements to the area over the last five years. We are all really looking forward to the coming five year term. The business plan sets out a whole host of projects to put into place, and we will do all we can to work to make Segensworth an even better place to do business."
