Still time to have your say on Council Tax

A Fareham Borough Council consultation running until Friday 30 November is asking residents to help the Council make some tough decisions on how to make up for the reduction in Government funding to support a new Council Tax Support Scheme, which will replace Council Tax Benefit from April 2013.

The Council is also seeking views on options for changing the amount of council tax due from owners of second homes and empty properties in the borough.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward said: "I would encourage as many people as possible to let us know what they think about the proposed new Council Tax Support Scheme to ensure that we can deliver the best possible service to everyone in the Borough."

You can look at and comment on the proposed scheme at /consultations. Paper copies and different formats of the consultation materials are available by phoning 01329 236100 or visiting the Civic Offices. Council Officers will also be able to answer questions about the proposed new scheme at the next Community Action Team (CAT) meeting which will take place on Tuesday 27 November at Portchester Parish Hall, Assheton Court, PO16 9PY from 7.00pm - 8.30pm.
