Due to heavy rainfall over night and today there is flooding in the Wallington and Titchfield areas.
The next high tides are at 16.30 this evening and 5.13 tomorrow morning and there have been warnings of more rain today. Fareham Borough Council is maintaining its Emergency Control Centre and is working closely with Hampshire County Council and the emergency services to ensure the safety of residents. An emergency contact number has been set up, telephone 01329 – 824794 for anyone with concerns for their property or friends and family in the area.

The Environment Agency has taken the decision to evacuate residents from 55 properties in Wallington between the Cobb and Pen and White Horse pubs. The evacuation is currently under way and the collection point is The White Horse Pub where people are being transported to the rest centre set up at Fareham Leisure Centre.
The roads between the Cobb and Pen and White Horse Pub are closed. Residents returning home from work can gain access to their properties by foot, but are advised against abandoning their cars. Residents can go to the rest centre set up at Fareham Leisure Centre for information on alternative accommodation.
Sandbags are being made available for the residents to collect from the Cobb and Pen Public House Wallington.
The level of the river Meon is receding but a number of properties are still vulnerable.
