Friday Night Club, a volunteer group which provides exciting activities for people with learning disabilities, is to receive £4,000 from Fareham Borough Council's Community Fund to purchase a second hand MAX-CAT six wheeled All Terrain Vehicle.
Based in Wallington, the volunteer-run organisation ranges its members from 20 to 80 years old, and is also open to children and teens. Marwell Activity Centre has offered the Friday Night Club the MAX-CAT at a reduced price of £4,000 to be stored and used at the Marwell Activity Centre.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward said: "We are happy to support the Friday Night Club so that it can continue to offer safe but exciting activities to people with learning disabilities living in the Borough. I would urge any other groups who have an idea for a project that could benefit from similar support to get in touch with their local Community Action Team Chairman or CAT Officer."
The Community Fund is available to support capital projects that benefit the local community or environment within the Borough of Fareham. Any resident, or organisation based in the Borough can apply for money from the Community Fund.
