New Mayor of Fareham

The new Mayor of Fareham for 2013/14 has been appointed today following the Mayor Making ceremony at Ferneham Hall.  Councillor Susan Bayford is now the Mayor of Fareham, and her consort is her husband, Cllr Brian Bayford.

This year, the Mayor will be supporting 3 charities which are The Rainbow Centre for Adult Rehabilitation, the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, and Tradissar RDA (Riding for the Disabled), based at Crofton Equestrian Centre.

Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Susan Bayford said: "It is a great honour to become Mayor of Fareham and I am very much looking forward to serving my term in office.  I hope that lots of people will help to support my chosen charities and that we can raise as much money as possible for these very worthy causes."

The new Mayor's Cadet was also appointed for 2013/14.  17year old, leading Cadet, Kirsty-Nicolle Wright, joined Warsash Sea Cadets in 2010 and has worked hard to gain many new skills and qualifications including a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Engineering.

Kirsty-Nicolle will take part in various duties to support the Mayor throughout the forthcoming year, including attendance at civic events, wreath bearing, church readings and assisting the Mayor's Attendants.
