No more sticky wickets for club after Community Funding for new mower

Fareham Borough Council have awarded £4,999 to Locks Heath Cricket Club to help pay for a specialist lawn mower.

The local community club based at Locks Heath Recreational Ground on Warsash Road fundraised £1,500 themselves with the rest of the cost of the new mower being for through the Community Fund. With a first team competing in Hampshire division 1 it is important that the club members are able to train on a pitch that matches their competitive standard.  The new mower will help to keep the pitch in great condition.

Executive Leader for Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward said  "the new mower is a great use of the Community Fund and will benefit club members of all ages from beginners to league players for many seasons to come".

The Community Fund is available to support projects that benefit the local community or environment within the Borough of Fareham. Any resident, or organisation based in the Borough can apply for money for one off capital funds from the Community Fund.
