Fareham residents should now be receiving their electoral registration forms through the door. This is to ensure the electoral register is as up-to-date as possible ahead of next year's elections, including European Parliament elections.
Residents are being encouraged to complete their registration form and return it promptly to ensure they can have their say.
European Parliament elections were last contested in 2009. Next year local council wards will also see local council elections.
Residents who don't receive their form can contact the elections team on 01329 824587 or print one off at www.aboutmyvote.co.uk .
Registering to vote is quick and simple. All you have to do is update the annual canvass form with details of everyone who lives in the household and is eligible to vote and return it to us as soon as possible.
For more information, contact your local Electoral Registration team on 01329 824587.
The full register is used for elections and referendums, preventing and detecting crime, and checking applications for credit. The edited register is available for general sale and can be used for commercial activities.
