We are looking for experienced and professional highly skilled multi-trade operatives to deliver a high quality, customer focussed repair service to occupied, vacant and estates buildings within the Borough of Fareham.

The ideal person will have previous experience working within social/council housing.

It is essential that you can carry out both carpentry and plumbing works to a professional standard along with a variety of supporting trades such as glazing and plastering. You must also be competent in all aspects of kitchen and bathroom fitting including copper pipe soldering and tiling.

You must have at least one recognised trade qualification and/or extensive industry experience.

A full valid driving licence is required as you will be driving a Council vehicle during working hours, you must also have a recognised trade related qualification.

Your working hours will typically be 8.15am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday but you will be expected to take part in an out of hours rota where overtime will be paid.

Neighbour Liaison Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Fareham and Gosport Environmental Health Partnership for a Neighbour Liaison Officer to work between our Gosport & Fareham Offices.

This new post will be helping to resolve disputes between neighbours for example, noise, dust, smell, smoke, light, vegetation, rubbish, pests etc. You will be knocking on doors, talking to customers and their neighbours in order to help them to informally resolve issues so that they can live peacefully together.

You will also be required to deal with environmental housing issues, investigating complaints and enforcing housing legislation so you would need to be to develop an understanding of this area, you must also be able to deal with the full range of pollution issues in the first instance.

The post holder will have to deal with issues that can be sensitive, contentious and/or complex, therefore tact and diplomacy is essential. On occasions, you may have to serve notices to individuals and appear in court.

The successful applicant will need to have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, be able to work on their own initiative, be flexible and able to adapt to changing work requirements whilst remaining calm, positive and cheerful.

You will be part of a rota to work outside of office hours including evenings and weekends to deal with neighbour issues and/or stray dog collection, for which additional payments are made.

Experience in dealing with conflict resolution and/or mediation is essential along with a valid UK Driving Licence.

Civil Enforcement Officer

Are you customer focused with an interest in helping Fareham keep traffic on the move and tackling dangerous or inconsiderate parking?

If so, consider joining our Civil Enforcement Parking Team.

You will be responsible for patrolling Council car parks and highways within the Borough, issuing penalty charge notices and assisting our customers with parking matters.

A full clean driving license is essential along with a professional image and customer focused attitude.

The flexibility to work a shift system with hours between 07.30am and 18.30 with some weekends and Bank Holidays is important.
