You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining and improving the Council’s award-winning parks and open spaces. This includes sports grounds, parks, cemeteries and other public spaces. Duties include soft and hard landscaping, site preparation, planting, turf maintenance, pruning of trees and shrubs and bedding maintenance. You will also be required to sweep collect and remove litter and animal waste.

You must have experience in grounds maintenance, ideally hold PA1 PA6 pesticide certification and a pleasant and courteous manner. Weekend and occasional evening working may be required. The hours of work will be 8.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am- 3.30pm Fridays.

Fareham Borough Council is committed to providing excellent customer service and we are currently seeking a confident and professional individual to work within our Customer Service Centre.

As the first point of contact for all visitors and callers to the Council, you will be required to handle a wide range of enquiries and must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proficient ICT skills.

The role will require you to work in our cash office, processing payments and producing permits. Numerical ability, cash handling experience and attention to detail are therefore important. You will also be required to sort and distribute incoming post and collate and prepare outgoing mail, which will involve some manual handling.

Temporary Maternity Cover up to 12 Months

Working within the Fareham and Gosport Environmental Health Partnership, you will join a small team assisting with the administration of the Licensing Service across both boroughs. You will also help to support all administration for the Car Parking Service in Fareham.

You will need to demonstrate previous relevant experience and be organised, accurate and flexible in your approach to work. As well as being competent in the use of computerised systems and possessing good keyboard skills, you will possess good communication skills, present a positive image, deliver excellent customer service and contribute to working as a team.

The role will require working at weekends and bank holidays and in all weather conditions.

ICT Helpdesk Technician

Do you have the knowledge and skills to troubleshoot, fix and prevent ICT problems?

Do you understand the importance of getting Customers back to work promptly?

Can you work in a helpdesk team that are helpful, enthusiastic and hardworking?

You will need to understand, fix and prevent problems, because we know there is no greater annoyance than when problems reoccur, or we break something else! Taking time to understand and implement a permanent solution.

Gone are the days of a simple PC and monitor, our service users are busy working across a range of communication devices and apps. Our customers tell us that they value our updates and that we take time to consult them. We are happy to help and ask them for feedback, so we can continually improve our service. That’s why we are a well-regarded team and have great job satisfaction.

You will be part of a Rota between 8am and 6.30pm keeping our service users working. We provide support over the telephone, email or remotely but prefer face-to-face. Our priority is to resolve our user’s ICT issues promptly.

We set up, install and maintain hardware, software, audio visual equipment and help the network team with infrastructure maintenance. Of course, it is vital that all data and systems are safe and secure.
