Fareham Borough Council has awarded £2,000 to Burridge Cricket Club (Colts) through community funding to purchase a bowling machine and equipment.
The club based at Burridge Recreational Ground coaches over 100 local children. Their U9, 11, 13 and 15 teams have gone from strength to strength in the South East Hants Cricket Leagues. The £2,000 awarded will help them to coach even more children and further improve their league performance.
Western Wards CAT Chairman, Councillor Michael Ford, showed support for the application and said "A bowling machine for the Colts will help develop local talent. With a first team competing at the top of their division it is important that the club has a steady stream of young talent feeding into the adult team".
Any resident, or organisation based in the Fareham can apply to the Community Fund for money for one off purchases from the Council. For more information about the Community Fund contact a member of the Community Action Team (CAT) on 01329 236100 or email cats@fareham.gov.uk.
