Fareham Borough Council has received a planning application from Persimmon Homes South Coast to develop the land north of Cranleigh Road and west of Wicor Primary School in Portchester.
The outline planning application proposes to build up to 135 homes on the site with access from Cranleigh Road and will include green open space and a play area.
Councillor Nick Walker, Chairman of the Planning Committee, said: "We will have to consider a number of planning issues before making a decision on the application. I would advise anyone interested in the planning application to look at the information on the Council's website and comment on the proposed plans."
You can view and comment on the planning application online by clicking on the link to the application on the Council's website at www.fareham.gov.uk...... You can also send written comments to the Department of Planning and Development, Fareham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Fareham PO16 7AZ. All comments need to be received by 24 April 2015.
If you have any questions about the planning application you can contact the Department of Planning and Development on 01329 824815 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fareham Borough Council proposes to hold a Community Action Team (CAT) meeting to talk about the planning application sometime in May. Details of which will be published shortly.
Notes to editor:
The current Local Plan identifies the site as outside the defined settlement boundary.
Fareham Borough Council did not propose to allocate the site for housing development in the Development Sites and Policies Plan (DSP) submitted for independent Examination.
The Planning Inspector undertaking the Examination into that Plan has considered this and many other sites around the Borough. His Preliminary Findings letter indicated that he considered a review of borough's urban areas is not justified at this time, because there are sufficient sites allocated to meet Core Strategy requirements. The Planning Inspector's final report on the Examination into the Plan is awaited.
