Fareham Borough Council has unveiled its new branding for Daedalus. The airport is renamed Solent Airport at Daedalus, Daedalus East becomes Faraday Business Park and Daedalus West becomes Swordfish Business Park.
The new branding marks a significant step in the progress of a site that is going from strength to strength.
Good news from the Solent Airport Estate so far this year includes:
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward said: "This is an exciting time for Fareham. Our vision is for Daedalus to become the Solent's premier centre of excellence for aviation, aerospace, marine engineering and advanced manufacturing.
"Fareham Innovation Centre achieved 100% occupancy within a year of opening and is filled with innovative, exciting businesses and more than a hundred businessmen and women. We are already exploring a number of investment opportunities with major companies that will see employment prospects for the area continue to go from strength to strength and there is a comprehensive programme for improvements to infrastructure and facilities underway."
Improvements planned for later this year include corporate facilities for the airport's corporate visitors, and there are also plans to be able to offer fuelling on site and improved aircraft parking.
All visitors can also look forward to enjoying drinks and light snacks with the arrival of a refreshment concession in the near future.
