On Sunday 27th November Christmas officially gets underway in Fareham, with a day of festive fun and the switching on of the town's Christmas lights.
It starts at 1pm with lots to do for the whole family. There will be a stage in West Street hosted by the Breeze 107, where acts including The Courtiers, Shenanigans and Marmalade Moonshine will perform. Also in West Street there will be fun fair rides, food and drink stalls, a 'Mini Christmas Market', and the chance to meet costumed characters Snow White and Cinderella.
The fun doesn't stop there though! There will also be activities at Westbury Manor Museum, including free face painting, feed the reindeer, arts and crafts and meet Santasaurus!*
The Christmas lights will be officially switched on by the Mayor plus special guests at 4.45pm, followed by a firework display.
Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Bell says, "This promises to be an exciting event for all the family and the perfect opportunity for everyone to get into the festive spirit. It's always a really popular event in the town, so why not join us as we officially start the countdown to Christmas 2016."
*Please note, to meet Santasaurus tickets must be booked in advance by calling 01329 822 063 or in person from Westbury Manor Museum. Tickets cost £3 per child.
