Fareham Borough Council is looking for any group with a great idea that can make a difference in the Fareham Park area.
The Council has set aside £17,500 for all kinds of groups and projects, including residents groups and small voluntary organisations, who are looking to make Fareham Park more than just a place to live
Executive Member for Leisure and Community Councillor Connie Hockley said: "I would encourage as many groups and people as possible who think they can help make a difference to the Fareham Park area to apply for funding. You can apply for funding for new and existing projects with ideas such as buying plants for a community garden, running a youth club or setting up a lunch club for older people."
Applications for funding can be made for any amount from £250 to £2,500 for projects that will be of direct benefit to the residents living in the Fareham Park area. The Fareham Park Purse Grant opens on Tuesday 28 May and closes on Sunday 10 July.
Applications will then be shortlisted and be invited to go to a public vote. A fun and free Community Voting Day and Summer Fair will take place on Saturday 20 July where local residents can come along and vote for the project/projects they would like to see in their area. Express FM will also be there to launch the event and to keep everyone entertained on the day.
