The Council has received a number of requests from residents of the Borough who wish to use Council owned public open space in their local area as somewhere to gather with family, friends and neighbours to celebrate the Royal Wedding on Friday 29 April.
Residents are free to use the Council's public open space in their local area for such informal gatherings as a place to hold their royal Wedding Celebration events.
The Council will waive the normal application fee of £66.30 for the hire of the open space and the requirement for public liability insurance will be waived for community based events involving family, friends and neighbours.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: "With the Royal Wedding being such an important occasion for the Country, we want to give our residents every opportunity to make Friday 29 April a special day in their local communities."
Organisers are requested to complete a simple application form confirming details of the organiser etc (who, what, where, when etc) and are reminded that if the event involves the sale of alcohol they will need to apply for a license.
