Fareham Borough Council's 15 apprentices will be attending an afternoon reception to meet the Executive Leader of the Council, Councillor Seán Woodward and the Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Trevor Cartwright MBE.
The apprentices are based at Fareham Borough Council, working in various different departments. They are studying over a 12 to 18 month period for a nationally recognised vocational qualification at various levels, equivalent to an NVQ or B/Tec. The formal training for the apprentices is taking place at Fareham, Eastleigh and Sparsholt colleges.
Executive Leader for Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: "The Apprenticeship Programme is providing the skills people need to take into the workplace and is an excellent platform for the rest of their careers. All our apprentices are doing well and I look forward to meeting them on Monday."
The London Apprenticeship Company (known locally as Apprentices for Business) is the appointed Apprenticeship Training Agency that supports the Council in delivering the Apprenticeship scheme. Apprentices for Business employ the apprentices and deal with all the formal training requirements whilst Fareham Borough Council will host the placements.
