Fareham Borough Council has prepared a number of draft equality objectives and would like resident's views on them. To help ensure the right objectives are chosen, residents and interested parties are invited to complete a short survey.
The Council has looked at the outcomes from some of the service reviews it has carried out and the feedback residents, employees, and customers have given over recent years. This found that there are some improvements (equality objectives), that the Council can make.
Executive leader for Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Sen Woodward said: "Getting the right Equality Objectives will help make sure that Fareham Borough Council services are accessible to everyone who wishes to use them, and that the Council treats everyone fairly and considers their needs."
The Council will publish the final objectives in April 2012 along with a four year plan of how the Council will make those improvements. The plan will be reviewed each year to make sure it is on target, and that the Council is still dealing with issues relevant to the community.
The survey can be found online at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultation from Monday 30 January until Friday 2 March. Paper copies will also be available at the Civic offices or by phoning 01329 236100.
