Fareham Borough Council's Play Rangers will be celebrating the Paralympics as part of the Hampshire wide Light a Lantern Festival with a free event at Westbury Manor Museum on Tuesday 21 August.
The event will give residents the chance to have a go at a range of activities including New Age Kurling, Rugby skills, seated volleyball, long jump, ball shots and Boccia (wheelchair bowls). There will also be the opportunity to get creative and crafty and make ‘an Olympian', a twirling baton or a sound-cracker to take home. Those who take part in 3 sports could also win a medal!
Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Councillor Connie Hockley said:" The 'Light a Lantern Festival' is taking place across Hampshire to mark the Paralympic Games. I hope to see lots of people at this event enjoying themselves, as there will be a range of activities for everyone."
The free event will take place from 11am-3pm at Westbury Manor Museum garden in Fareham. Refreshments will be available.
