Fareham Borough Council is teaming up with Insulate Hampshire to provide rolls of DIY loft insulation to Fareham residents, completely free of charge on Tuesday 30th October between 10.00am – 12.30pm from Fareham College car park, Bishopsfield Road, Fareham.
Places are limited and residents are encouraged to sign up for the 30th October event as soon as possible to register contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.insulatehampshire.co.uk. Please note your address must be within Fareham.
The free loft insulation can help save up to £50 a year on fuel bills. Residents will be offered rolls up to 100m2 of insulation free of charge. By topping up to the recommended 270mm Fareham residents can protect themselves from the cost of rising fuel bills and enjoy a more comfortable home.
Insulate Hampshire scheme is a council backed scheme working in partnership with Hampshire County Council and the 11 Districts across Hampshire with funding from Scottish Power.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: "Insulate Hampshire is an excellent scheme which offers homeowners in the Borough the opportunity to insulate their homes for free or at a fraction of the normal price and will help residents save money on their fuel bills. Fareham homes are currently top of the league across the district for having the most installations; which totals nearly £0.5m investment in energy saving measures”.
Insulate Hampshire also offers professionally installed cavity wall and loft insulation free of charge to homeowners and private renters within the Fareham area, where less than 2 ½ inches of loft insulation currently exists. For free professionally installed cavity wall insulation residents should register their interest before 30th September 2012, by contacting Insulate Hampshire on 0800 952 0037 or applying online at https://www.insulatehampshire.co.uk/apply-online.html
Since the scheme began, 40,260 kg of CO2 emissions has been saved collectively from the communities across Hampshire so far. The Government will stop funding the free insulation schemes at the end of this year
