Fareham Borough Council have awarded £1,144 to Fareham and Portchester Camera Club after their application to receive community funding for a replacement projector.
Every Tuesday Portchester Parish Hall is filled with up the photographic enthusiasts that make up Fareham and Portchester Camera Club. The members meet to display their own work and view that of others, the quality of this experience is now better than ever thanks to acquiring a new projector through the Fareham Borough Council Community Fund. The new projector enables large scale display and furthers the ability to view and discuss work within the group.
Club members regularly participate in competition with local clubs, but without a quality projector the club would be unable to host these or other events and miss out on the opportunity to learn from visiting photographers.
Executive Leader for Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward said: "Fareham and Portchester Camera Club are actively developing the creative talents of local photographers, the new projector will further enable members to enhance their skills through group learning and competition. I would urge anyone else with a great idea for a local project to apply for Community Funding."
The Community Fund is available to support projects that benefit the local community or environment within the Borough of Fareham. Any resident, or organisation based in the Borough can apply for money for one off capital funds from the Community Fund.
