The gardens open day in Fareham that was held on Sunday 28th July was the most successful yet. It was the 9th annual event featuring Fareham in Bloom award winning gardens; six of them were open for viewing which raises funds for both local and horticultural based charities. There were 364 tickets sold and the total money raised was £2920.74 which was up on 2012 by £331.83.
Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Councillor Connie Hockley said: "I am thrilled that this year's garden open day was such a great success. We're always so impressed by the Fareham in Bloom entries each year so I am delighted that so many people went along to see these beautiful gardens for themselves".
The event is organised by the Fareham in Bloom team and has been running for nine years and it has raised over an impressive £18,000 to date.
