Youth Activity Funding
Alongside Community Funding, Fareham Borough Council has a Youth Activity Fund. This fund is aimed at informal open access activities for young people. They will need to provide a safe environment for young people to meet with friends and participate in activities with help and support from a trained 'youth worker.'
Eligible Open Access youth provisions which meet the below criteria and priorities are invited by Fareham Borough Council in March to apply for this funding. If you are a new youth provision and feel you are eligible, too, please contact Leisure@fareham.gov.uk
The Criteria are:
- You provide open access youth provision for young people aged between 11 and 19.
- There is a specific need in this area that isn't met by another youth provision.
- Your activities will be coordinated by workers trained or experienced to be able to provide support and advice for young people and act as positive role models
- You will have an appropriate programme incorporating fun activities in a safe environment.
- No other alternative source of funding is available to fully meet the costs of running your provision.
We will invite applications from Youth Clubs where:
- Open access youth provision is not duplicated in the same ward for the same age group and
- The youth club supports more disadvantaged communities, as determined by the 2015 Indices of Multiple Deprivation or
- Regular attendance at the youth club is over 15 young people and
- You can demonstrate that you have applied to a range of alternative funding sources.
